USCIS filing fees have gone up or down depending on the form and circumstances. USCIS will definitely be making more money if certain adjustments of status take longer to process. Sadly, the filing fee calculator does not work as well, in my opinion, and resorting to the G-1055 Form is a must to avoid avoidable, unfortunate mistakes.
